Lindos
has almost 700 inhabitants and is placed
on the castlehill with the white houses.
As the only city amongst the 3 antique
cities on Rhodes, Lindos still exists as
an urban community with its natural
harbour, which is the only one on the
eastcoast.
Lindos is placed on the eastcoast and the
distance to the city of Rhodes is 56
km.
When the
Johannits in the year 1300 came to Lindos,
they build a fortress on the top of
Acropolis to defend themselves against the
turks and the many pirates who ravaged the
Aegaerian ocean.

the summer. There is an exceptional beautiful
view from the top of Acropolis and with
the view to the ocean you
sense the greatness and the presence of history.
The Athena
Lindias temple that was built in the year
342 BC stands with its seven famous dorik columns
out to the
sheer precipice almost 170 m above the sea.
